Everyday Green Tips from InterCall Employees
Things You Can Do to Change Your Habits…from Our Team to Yours!

We encourage everyone at InterCall to take steps to help us change our practices. From finding opportunities to create paperless processes to just switching off the lights…there are countless ways we can all work together to make progress!

Eliminate the use of paper and styrofoam cups. Purchase a ceramic mug for every employee. Make it part of the hiring process, too.
Nicky Silverstein, Quality Director - Wayne, NJ

Think twice before you print out emails. And when you have to print, use both sides of the paper. Collect old fax confirmations and other wasted pages and use the back of those, too!
Carolyn Campbell, Marketing Director – Carrollton, TX

In corporate cafeterias, replace plastic silverware with real silverware (second hand is best) to save on packaging, plastic and cost!
Kelly Mark, Sales Manager - Louisville, CO

Most printer ink comes with postage-paid envelopes so you can ship the empty cartridges back for recycling. If your supplies are delivered from a major office supply chain store, almost all of them will pick up your empties and return them to the manufacturer for you.
Cynthia Fleming, Sales Associate – Carrollton, TX

When washing your hands use cold water. The time that it takes for the water to warm up wastes energy. The combination of the soap and rubbing of the hands is what does the cleaning anyhow. So, save energy and use cold water.
Kevin Owens, Sr Systems Technician - Chicago, IL

Unplug your cell phone charger, laptop, iPod or any other rechargeable device when not actually charging or using. The chargers still draw a small amount of power if they are plugged in, even when not charging the device.
Jon-Michael McDowell, Quality Assurance Analyst - Valley, AL

Instead of "brown bagging" it, take your lunch to work in reusable containers. This will reduce trash and save you money on sandwich bags!
Abby Clubb, Marketing Coordinator - Carrollton, TX
