InterCall Redefines High Definition Video for Webcasting

Support for HD Webcams, Professional Video Feeds and HD VCUs Helps Organizations Deliver Full End-to-End HD Video Quality for their High-profile Events

CHICAGO, July 16, 2012InterCall®, a subsidiary of West Corporation and the world's largest conferencing and collaboration services provider, today announced full end-to-end, high definition (HD) video capabilities (including H.264 support) for its popular InterCall Webcast Studio platform.

With this addition, customers can now use HD Webcams, professional video feeds and HD videoconferencing units (VCUs) to deliver HD video quality all the way to the desktop during their high-profile events.

Key to the new capability is improved video compression that allows a higher-quality signal to be received at a lower video bit rate. As a result, webcast hosts are able to provide the type of video quality users are accustomed to from commercial broadcast sources without taking up excessive bandwidth or over-burdening their network resources.

InterCall Webcast Studio is the first to support organic HD through a webcam. It provides resolution up to 720p, delivering a more engaging experience for viewers while making whiteboards easier to read and live demonstrations easier to follow.

"As people encounter high-definition video in their personal lives, they expect the same level of performance from desktop video at work,” said Mike Nessler, Executive Vice President of InterCall Event Services. “While other webcasting tools claim to be HD and use HD tools on the broadcast end, they’re still delivering just standard video to the desktop. InterCall Webcast Studio breaks that barrier by delivering a full HD experience to users on their devices."

InterCall Webcast Studio makes it easy for companies of all sizes to create and broadcast impactful, rich media presentations on the web, helping them connect with more people around the globe. The platform is an ideal solution for organizations that need to broadcast their messages to the widest audience possible for investor relations calls, informational/instructional sessions and other high-impact events. Webcasts can be broadcast live and/or recorded for later playback.

InterCall Event Services creates powerful and engaging experiences for participants through professionally managed audio conference calls, impactful rich media presentations on the web and fully integrated virtual environments. More than simple connection solutions, its innovative offerings provide the ability to track attendee interaction and deliver a comprehensive view of audience engagement, ultimately driving ROI for events.
