SAN JOSE, Calif. – October 16, 2007 – BEA Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: BEAS), a world leader in enterprise infrastructure software, today announced that InterCall, the world’s largest conferencing service provider, has successfully deployed their IP-based, next-generation conferencing product on BEA WebLogic® SIP Server and BEA WebLogic Portal®.  InterCall uses BEA technology to process millions of conferencing minutes per month and to create customized solutions for a majority of today’s Fortune 1000 companies.
“More than 70,000 companies depend on our services around the clock and around the globe, so extreme reliability is our number one priority,” said Rob Ewing, vice president of information technology, InterCall.  “We’ve been using BEA products since we first deployed BEA WebLogic Server® five years ago, and as we evolve from a global conferencing provider to a global communications provider, BEA was the clear choice for a technology partner.”
With BEA WebLogic SIP Server at the application layer of their architecture, InterCall built a conferencing platform that is less expensive and more agile than any available off-the-shelf solutions.  Through the standardization and ease of integration provided by BEA WebLogic SIP Server, InterCall reduced by one-third the time needed to develop new audio, video and web conferencing services.  Additionally, the components-based structure of BEA WebLogic SIP Server is enabling InterCall to create customized call-flow applications with features such as a welcome greeting and hold music that can be tailored to individual customers.
“InterCall currently has more than 140,000 ports deployed, and we see BEA playing a critical role in helping us deploy additional ports this year,” continued Ewing.  “Our new growth will be supported by the BEA WebLogic SIP Server, which will allow us to scale our business quickly and cost-efficiently.  We’ve also learned from our long-standing relationship that we can count on BEA Mission Critical Support® at any point in this process.”
“In a business environment where workers demand service anytime, anywhere and on any device, InterCall has seen tremendous success with their customized and innovative conferencing solutions,” said Mike McHugh, vice president and general manager of BEA WebLogic Communications Platform, BEA Systems.  “We are pleased that InterCall chose BEA products to provide the underlying structure for these services.”
BEA WebLogic Portal is the foundation of InterCall Online which offers customers unified self-service access to all InterCall products and features.  This product is enabling InterCall to provide customers with efficient and timely service, while helping to ensure secure access to a personalized workspace.  Each portal is customized to reflect each customer’s branded look and feel and is designed to meet the privacy and security demands of industries such as healthcare and financial services.
BEA WebLogic SIP Server is a key component of the BEA WebLogic Communications Platform family of communications infrastructure software products.  It is designed to deliver the most powerful, highly available, service convergence platform for network operators, network equipment providers, systems integrators, and independent software vendors that seek to develop, integrate and operate revenue-generating, real-time, multimedia communication services.
